When Trojan.Lodeight.B is executed, it performs the following actions:
- Tries to disable the Windows Firewall by stopping the following services:
- Tries to disable any process that contains the following string:
Drvddll.exe
- Tries to delete the following registry subkey, if it exists:
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run\"drvsys.exe"
Note: This file is related to other previous W32.Beagle variants.
- Copies itself as %System%\wintems.exe.
Note: %System% is a variable that refers to the System folder. By default this is C:\Windows\System (Windows 95/98/Me), C:\Winnt\System32 (Windows NT/2000), or C:\Windows\System32 (Windows XP).
- Creates the following mutexes on the compromised computer to ensure that only one copy of threat is running:
- Tries to end the following process, the Windows Task Manager utility:
